I See Those Judgy Eyes

When a stylish mom walks into the room the fierce scanning begins.

"She must have a nanny."

"She's not up with her children all night."

"If I had her money I'd look like that too."

"I'm not as superficial as she is."

"I'm not starving myself; it impacts the quality of my breast milk."

The point of this article is to remind you to STOP.

A Fun Family Day At Pinto's Farm

It was such a beautiful day this past Sunday, that a sunny blue sky was all my family & I needed to head out to Pinto’s Farm in Miami, FL. What better way to spend an afternoon than surrounded by animals & loved ones.

On our way to the farm, we told Kamilah where we were going and how excited we were for her to see all the animals. She loves animals so much, we knew she’d like it there!

Mama of The Week: Meet Laura from Haus of Laura

There are a few people in your life that you barely even know but you feel an incredible connection with.

Our mama of the week is exactly that. Someone I hardly know but have so much appreciation for. Just like myself, she's a stay at home, dedicated mompreneur that not only takes great care of her two beautiful daughters but also confidently slays in all she does.

She likes to describe herself as a spontaneous, fun to be around, comical, thoughtful, friendly and cordial momma.

I Love Being a Mother, But I Don’t Love The Uncertainty That Comes With It

Do you ever wonder if your thoughts are really your own?

I’ve had really weird thoughts since I became a mother, thoughts I never had before. If I tell you what they are, you’ll just laugh. Who knows? Maybe if you’re a parent as well, you’d understand where these thoughts stem from.

I can’t possibly believe that my mind is the only one that thinks these things. Becoming a mom has gifted me so many blessings, but the manual also came with a couple of new fears. I’m a believer in what you think, you become. I always try to think positive, putting any negative thoughts aside. Although I must confess, I am human. It’s a tough one for me sometimes.

It’s True: Becoming a Mom Helped Me Deal with Social Anxiety

It was a blistering summer day when we moved to our new townhouse in the suburbs last year. It’s the kind of place where people watch out for one another and new neighbors come knocking just to say hi. There’s even a city park where boys play basketball until well after dark right across the street. For me, moving to a new neighborhood with a true sense of community was essential. I wanted my daughter to have the social connections that I did not have as the kid of a socially anxious parent who moved around a lot. Something put a damper in my excitement, though. The truth is, I’m socially anxious, too.

President Trump recently signed an executive order (EO) that commands federal agencies to scale back on the regulations of genetically modified organisms, better known as GMOs. This executive order commands agencies to exempt numerous GMOs from regulations, allowing an increasing number of GMO crops and animals to not be reviewed scientifically by any federal agencies. This order is executed about one week after the U.S. Department of Agriculture proposed to weaken the regulation of GMO's that fall under its administration.

Fun Day: 'Storytime' At The Library

I took Kamilah to the library the other day & we made some beautiful memories together. We went to a public library around where we live for some story time, dancing & playing.

Of course the last thing Kamilah did was sit down and enjoy the wonderful stories the library’s staff read to all kids that showed up that day. She wasn’t the only one; They welcome kids of all ages & they’re free to roam around.

She enjoyed herself very much!

10 Signs You Are An Empath & Your Kid Might Be Too

Empaths are highly sensitive individuals who have the ability to feel emotions and sense energies around them. This might be extremely overwhelming for an empath but also beneficial. The term empath is use by the spiritual community to symbolize an individual with special psychic abilities. Psychologists describe it more as a person who has great empathy towards others, often absorbing other’s pain as if it was their own.

If you believe you’re highly intuitive and are constantly feeling like you need some alone time to recharge, then you might be an empath yourself.
